Penn State men’s hockey: Nittany Lions to wear jersey benefitting Thon

The Penn State men’s hockey team has another special jersey ready to debut this weekend.

The Nittany Lions will wear a special one-time jersey which will be auctioned off to support the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon

The special jerseys will be worn at Pegula Ice Arena for Saturday’s 4:30 p.m. game against Northern Michigan.

The white jerseys will feature “Penn State” on the front with numbers in block print. The sleeves and base of the jersey will have two blue lines that wrap around the sweater, while the back has the word “Thon” on the name plates.

Fans will be able to bid on the jerseys, some in the arena and some online at gopsusports.com, with proceeds donated to Thon and the Four Diamonds Fund for the fight against pediatric cancer.

The game also will have a “Teddy Bear Toss,” with fans asked to bring new or gently used teddy bears to the game to be given to Four Diamonds Families.

The Nittany Lions wore an alternate third jersey last Saturday, and had a camouflage-inspired pattern for Military Appreciation Day last season.
