PSU women’s hockey falls to Princeton
Despite a standout effort from goalie Hannah Ehresmann, the Penn State women’s ice hockey team fell 3-2 to No. 10 Princeton on Saturday.
The Tigers (11-4-1) swept the two-game weekend series against the Nittany Lions (4-12-4), who are winless in their last six games and have just one win in their last 14 games.
Ehresmann made 36 saves in the loss, following a 38-save effort in a 4-0 loss Friday.
Hannah Bramm accounted for the Penn State scoring, netting the game’s first goal at 10:58 of the second period, and adding the day’s final goal with 18 seconds left. Kelsey Crow, Emily Laurenzi, Bella Sutton and Laura Bowman all picked up assists.
Kelsey Koelzer answered Bramm’s first score 1:24 later for the Tigers, and Morgan Sly and Jaimie McDonell netted third-period goals for the win.
Alysia DaSilva made 15 saves in the Princeton net.
The Nittany Lions will take time away from the ice until visiting Ohio State on Jan. 2.
