PSU women’s hockey team falls to Ohio State
The Penn State women’s hockey team dropped its first game of the new year, falling 2-1 at Ohio State on Saturday.
Hannah England accounted for the lone goal for the Nittany Lions (4-13-4), who have lost three straight and are winless in their last seven games. Shannon Yoxheimer and Victoria Samuelson assisted on England’s second goal of the season.
Lauren Boyle scored early for the Buckeyes (7-12), and after England tied it midway through the second period, Jessica Dunn netted the game winner less than two minutes later.
Celine Whitlinger made 12 saves in the loss, while Alex LaMere made 20 stops for Ohio State. The Nittany Lions outshot the Buckeyes 21-14.
The teams meet again at 2 p.m. Sunday.
