Sutton gives Penn State women’s hockey win in OT

Bella Sutton gave Penn State an overtime win over Robert Morris at Pegula Ice Arena on Friday.

Sutton’s third score of the season delivered the Nittany Lions (7-14-4, 3-4-4 College Hockey America) their second straight victory in overtime.

Hannah Bramm scored late in the first period, then hit the net again seven minutes into the second for a 2-0 lead.

The Colonials (12-9-4, 4-4-3) picked up goals from Mikaela Lowater and Brittany Howard late in the third period to foce overtime.

Celine Whitlinger made 33 saves for the win as Penn State was outshot 35-26.

The teams meet again at 2 p.m. Saturday.
