Nittany Lion women’s hockey skates to tie with Robert Morris
Penn State tied conference foe Robert Morris 2-2 on Saturday at Pegula Ice Arena.
The Nittany Lions (7-14-5, 3-4-5) benefited from a stellar performance between the pipes, as goaltender Hannah Ehresmann made a season-high 40 saves.
Penn State’s Hannah Bramm tallied her third goal of the weekend, opening the scoring just 2 minutes, 40 seconds into the first period.
The Colonials’ Ashley Vesci knotted the score late in the first period, but Amy Petersen regained the lead for Penn State with 9:35 left in regulation, burning Robert Morris goaltender Jessica Dodds top-shelf.
The Colonials, though, tied it with 33 seconds remaining, and neither team could come up with an overtime goal.
Penn State pushes forward with its homestand next weekend, as the Nittany Lions host RIT for a two-game series that starts Friday night.
