Syracuse edges Penn State women’s hockey
Syracuse nipped Penn State 2-1 Saturday afternoon to sweep the weekend series at Pegula Ice Arena.
Emily Costales scored 56 seconds into the game, and Megan Quinn netted the winner in the second period for the Orange (14-13, 3, 10-4-2 College Hockey America).
Laura Bowman scored the lone goal for the Nittany Lions (9-16-5, 5-6-5), with help from Amy Peterson and Remi Martin. Penn State had been on a five-game unbeaten streak before the weekend.
Hannah Ehresman made 21 saves in the loss, while Syracuse counterpart Jenn Gilligan stopped 19 shots.
Penn State hosts Lindenwood on Friday and Saturday.
