McAdam nominated for top goalie award

Penn State men’s hockey goaltender Eamon McAdam has been nominated for the Mike Richter Award, which goes to the top goalie in the NCAA, Let’s Play Hockey and the Herb Brooks Foundation announced Friday.

McAdam is among 26 nominees, which will be cut to five finalists on March 16. The award will be presented by Richter himself at the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four in Tampa, Fla.

The junior currently leads the nation in goaltender points (three) and leads the Big Ten in both save percentage (.928) and goals-against average (2.43). He is second in the Big Ten for win percentage (.719).

The Nittany Lions (19-9-4, 9-6-1-1) take on Wisconsin on the road March 4 and 5.
