Penn State women’s soccer coach Erica Dambach earns 200th career victory
A pair of second-half goals less than four minutes apart helped lock up the Penn State women’s soccer team’s 3-0 victory over San Diego State on Friday evening at Jeffrey Field, giving coach Erica Dambach her 200th career victory.
Frannie Crouse scored a pair of goals and Megan Schafer added the other in the first game of a doubleheader with the Nittany Lion men.
Dambach amassed her win total with three programs over 15 seasons, including 160 wins at Penn State in nine-plus seasons. She now sports a career record of 200-80-14.
Crouse netted her first tally midway through the first half, then Schafer and Crouse had the quick strikes 3:49 apart in the opening minutes of the second half.
The Nittany Lions (3-2-1) dominated play with a 29-5 disparity in shots. Amanda Dennis and Sarafina Valenti combined to make one save for the shutout of the Aztecs.
Penn State will host LaSalle on Sunday at Jeffrey Field in the final non-conference game of the season.
