Suero’s goal lifts Penn State past Wisconsin

Freshman Laura Suero scored the first goal of her career to lead the Penn State women’s soccer team to a 1-0 win over Wisconsin on Sunday.

Suero found the back of net to break a scoreless tie in the 72nd minute. Elizabeth Ball and Nickolette Driesse both recorded assists on the goal.

Nittany Lions goalie Amanda Dennis finished with three saves for the shutout.

Penn State improved to 4-0-1 in its last five games.

The Nittany Lions (5-2-2, 1-0-1 Big Ten) host Iowa at 8 p.m. Friday.
