Penn State men’s soccer: Bollinger scores as Nittany Lions tie Ohio State
Sam Bollinger scored Penn State’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Ohio State on Sunday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Bollinger, a former State College standout, netted the first goal of his collegiate career on the first shot on goal for Penn State (3-1-2, 1-0-1), knocking in a rebound on a corner kick in the 56th minute.
Kenny Cunningham scored for the Buckeyes (1-4-2, 0-1-1) in the 16th minute, and the teams played through two 10-minute overtimes with no more scoring.
Matt Bersano made seven saves in the tie, which featured a 23-18 advantage in shots for Ohio State along with 46 fouls, nine yellow cards and one red card ejection.
The Nittany Lions visit Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
