Penn State men’s soccer: West Virginia blanks Nittany Lions

Jamie Merriam scored two goals to lead West Virginia to a 3-0 win over Penn State on Tuesday night.

Joey Piatczyc scored West Virginia’s third goal.

Penn State outshot West Virginia 20-7.

Nittany Lions goalie Matt Bersano made one save, and West Virginia’s Alec Boerner (five saves) and Daniel Diaz (three saves) combined on the shutout.

Penn State (5-5-2) returns to action at Michigan State at 1 p.m. Sunday.
