For the third straight game, Penn State fell just short.
The Nittany Lions lost to Michigan State, 2-1, on Sunday, falling to 5-6-2 on the season (2-3-1 in Big Ten play). The Spartans are now 7-4-2 overall.
Michigan State’s Jason Stacy opened the scoring in the second half, beating Penn State goalkeeper Matt Bersano in the 47th minute.
The Nittany Lions answered, though. In the 49th minute, Michigan State goalkeeper Zach Bennett made a save, but the ball landed to Penn State midfielder Christian Kaschak. The redshirt junior buried the chance for his first-ever collegiate goal.

Unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, they couldn’t hold on to take the game into overtime. With a little more than two minutes left in regulation, Spartans freshman Connor Corrigan netted the game-winner on a diving header.
Penn State’s next game is on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as it plays host to Loyola Marymount.
