Penn State women’s soccer: Nittany Lions fall to Rutgers

No. 25 Rutgers upset No. 9 Penn State 1-0 on Sunday, notching the game’s lone goal in the second half.

The Scarlet Knights, who outshot the Nittany Lions 8-4 in the second half, converted the game-winner in the 52nd minute. Rutgers’ Colby Ciarrocca drove the ball into the upper-left corner of the net from six yards out for her fifth goal of the season.

Penn State goalkeeper Britt Eckerstrom tallied five saves.

The Nittany Lions stay on the road, playing their next game at Ohio State on Saturday.
