Penn State men’s soccer: Maloney brothers honored by Big Ten
Penn State’s Connor and Austin Maloney earned postseason honors from the Big Ten on Friday. Connor Maloney earned first-team All-Big Ten honors for the second time, while his younger brother made the conference’s All-Freshman Team.
The elder Maloney has 15 points in 15 starts this season, including a team-high seven goals. The junior ranks third in the conference in goals this year.
The younger Maloney has two assists this season, starting 12 games in the midfield.
Also, Michael Gonzalez earned the Sportsmanship Award as the Nittany Lions prepare to face Michigan State in the first round of the conference tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
