Penn State women’s volleyball sweeps Rutgers

The No. 18 Penn State women’s volleyball team swept Rutgers 25-17, 25-17, 25-5 in its Big Ten opener Wednesday night.

The Nittany Lions made five errors in the dominant win.

Simone Lee had 13 kills to lead Penn State, and Ali Frantti added 11 kills.

Abby Detering finished with 34 assists for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State (9-3, 1-0) returns to action at Northwestern at 1 p.m. Sunday.
