Nittany Lion volleyball sweeps to victory

No. 8 Penn State earned its fourth straight win, sweeping Mount Olive 25-16, 25-22, 25-20 Saturday night at Rec Hall.

Spencer Sauter’s 10 kills on .444 hitting, Aiden Albrecht’s eight kills and Lee Smith’s seven kills on .600 hitting paced the Nittany Lions (6-2), who hit .437 as a team. Sauter and Albrecht each added four blocks and Matt Callaway led with five. Taylor Hammond gave out 18 assists with 13 for Zack Parik, and Royce Clemens picked up nine digs.

Robert Poole’s 10 kills led Mount Olive (3-2).

Penn State visits Harvard and Sacred Heart next weekend.
