Nugent earns EIVA award

Penn State’s Chris Nugent was named EIVA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The junior outside hitter averaged 4.43 kills per set last weekend in victories over Harvard and Sacred Heart. He had 19 kills on .433 hitting in a 3-0 sweep of the Crimson, then notched a dozen kills in a 3-1 victory over the Pioneers to earn his third career conference weekly honor.

Penn State hosts NJIT on Friday and Princeton on Saturday.
