Callaway earns EIVA honor

Penn State’s Matt Callaway was named Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Callaway had six kills on an error-free 13 swings and nine blocks, three of them solo, in a 3-0 sweep of Princeton on Saturday. He had 10 kills on .600 hitting with five blocks in a 3-1 victory over New Jersey Institute of Technology.

The No. 6 Nittany Lions (10-2) host Charleston and George Mason on Friday and Saturday.
