Loyola drops Penn State men’s volleyball

No. 12 Loyola-Chicago took down No. 10 Penn State 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-19 at Rec Hall on Saturday night.

Jalen Penrose’s 12 kills on .556 hitting and Chris Nugent’s 11 kills paced the Nittany Lions (14-7). Matt Seifert had three blocks, Royce Clemens picked up a dozen digs and Zack Parik gave out 27 assists.

Ben Plaisted’s career-high 22 kills paced the Ramblers (15-6), with Trevor Novotney posting nine kills and Nicholas Olson adding four blocks. Novotney and Olson added three aces apiece.

Penn State hit .327 to .342 for Loyola.

The Nittany Lions visit Princeton on Friday.
