Penn State secures league title with win over Sacred Heart

Penn State clinched the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association title with a 25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday night at Rec Hall.

It is the Nittany Lions’ 18th straight conference title.

Penn State’s Chris Nugent finished with a game-high 21 kills, Taylor Hammond recorded 49 assists and Lee Smith had 12 digs, three blocks and one ace.

The Nittany Lions (18-8, 11-1) play at Charleston on Friday and at George Mason on Saturday.
