Penn State’s Chris Nugent was named Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The junior outside hitter posted 10 kills on .300 hitting in a 3-0 loss to No. 2 Ohio State on Tuesday, 10 kills on .304 hitting in a 3-0 win over Harvard on Friday, and a career-high 21 kills on .645 hitting in a 3-1 victory against Sacred Heart on Saturday.
The honors are the fourth of the season for Nugent.
The weekend wins locked up the EIVA regular-season title for the 18th straight season for the No. 9 Nittany Lions (18-8), giving them the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament.
