Penn State continues reign atop NWCA poll with all 10 wrestlers ranked in top 10

Penn State’s 10 wrestlers are all ranked for the fourth week in a row, with all 10 in the top 10, as the Nittany Lions continue rolling through the regular season.

They have five wrestlers ranked No. 1 in their weight class in Beau Bartlett (141 pounds), Levi Haines (157 pounds), Carter Starocci (174 pounds), Aaron Brooks (197 pounds) and Greg Kerkvliet (285 pounds).

The Nittany Lions also have one wrestler in the top five — Braeden Davis (second, 125 pounds) — while Aaron Nagao (133 pounds) Tyler Kasak (149 pounds), Mitchell Mesenbrink (165 pounds) and Bernie Truax (184 pounds) are ranked sixth, 10th, seventh and sixth, respectively.

The team continues to be ranked atop the NWCA top 25 poll, as it stayed unbeaten at 8-0. The Nittany Lions defeated Ohio State 28-9 in their only dual since last week’s rankings.

The Big Ten as a whole has continued its dominance, with five schools ranked in the top 10 and eight overall in the top 25. Iowa is the highest ranked Big Ten team behind Penn State at No. 3, with Nebraska (No. 5), Ohio State (No. 6), Michigan (No. 9), Minnesota (No. 11), Rutgers (No. 14) and Indiana (No. 22) also ranked. Michigan State fell out of the rankings.
