Megaludis picks up conference honor

Penn State’s Nico Megaludis was chosen as the Big Ten’s Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday.

Megaludis pinned Oklahoma State’s Eddie Klimara in 3:58 at 125 to help the No. 1 Nittany Lions to a 29-18 win over No. 3 Oklahoma State in the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Dual Championship on Sunday.

It was Megaludis’ fourth win by fall of the season and marked his 52nd dual victory of his career.

Megaludis is 24-2 this season.

The Nittany Lions (16-0) finished the year as the only undefeated team in the country. Penn State is ranked first in the InterMat rankings released Tuesday.

Penn State is set to compete at the Big Ten Championships from March 5-6 in Iowa City, Iowa.
