Bald Eagle Area girls’ soccer blanks Tyrone

Bald Eagle Area defeated Tyrone 1-0 Thursday night.

Emily Shiels scored the only goal of the match and she was assisted by Kiersten Walker. Lady Eagles goalkeeper Charlee Harris made seven saves while Tyrone’s goalkeeper Kelsey Johnson had nine.

“The girls played great tonight. They moved the ball well in the midfield,” BEA coach Jared Moore said. “Madelynn Holderman and Zoey McHenry controlled the play in the midfield very well. Also, (Tyrone) had a corner kick and Morgan Chambers had to make a goal line clearance. It was an amazing save. Overall, the girls played with heart and that’s all I can ask of them.”

BEA is now 3-3 this season and will host a tournament this Saturday.
