State College’s Feffer takes 4th individually at Foundation Invitational
State College’s Nick Feffer finished fourth out of 307 runners in the boys’ gold cross country race to highlight the local performances at the Foundation Invitational on Saturday.
Feffer finished with a time of 16:24 to lead the Little Lions, who took eighth out of 44 teams at the meet.
“He challenged the leaders the whole way,” State College coach Dave Felice said of Feffer. “He ran an excellent race.”
Cardinal O’Hara’s Ryan James finished first individually with a time of 15:58, helping his team (171) take second behind team winner La Salle College (96).
Owen Wing (44th, 17:11) and Owen Isham (50th, 17:14) were also top finishers for State College.
In the 21-team boys’ white race at the meet, Penns Valley finished sixth and St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy took ninth.
The Rams had a score of 169, finishing behind Winchester Thurston (43), Southern Columbia Area (131), Jenkintown (136), Cranberry (142) and Elk Lake (167).
The Wolves recorded a score of 225.
Chris Colwell took 11th with a time of 17:29 to lead Penns Valley. Mark Bierly finished 14th (17:40) and Sam Gray was 21st (17:51) for the Rams.
Michael Peters was the Wolves’ top finisher, placing 28th with a time of 18:22.
