State College girls’ team, Penns Valley’s Bierly provide highlights at Foundation Invitational

Penns Valley’s Rebecca Bierly finished third individually in the girls’ blue race, and State College took fourth as a team in the girls’ gold race at the Foundation Invitational on Saturday.

The Lady Little Lions recorded a score of 250, finishing behind Oakland Catholic (113), Perkiomen Valley (151) and Cardinal O’Hara (216).

State College’s Gabbi Bock was 27th with a time of 19:59, and Catherine Curtin took 29th with a time of 20:04.

Bierly’s time of 19:45 led the Lady Rams, who took 19th out of 30 teams.

“Rebecca continues to run strong and with determination,” Penns Valley coach Lynda Federinko said.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy competed at the Foundation Invitational and Carlisle Invitational on Saturday.

The Lady Wolves recorded a score of 238 to finish seventh out of 19 teams at the Foundation Invitational in Hershey. Vincentian Academy won the race with a score of 62.

Addie Ebbs was the top finisher for St. Joseph’s at the Foundation Invitational, taking 24th with a time of 22:07. Katie Ott placed 34th (22:41), and Lindsey Carmack finished 38th (23:01).

At the Carlisle Invitational, the Lady Wolves finished 15th out of 20 teams. Sera Mazza paced St. Joseph’s with a 16th-place finish (18:47).
