Friberg leads State College golf at Mid Penn Championship

State College’s Christian Friberg tied for third individually to help the Little Lions boys’ team tie for fourth at the Mid Penn Championship held at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course on Monday.

Friberg shot a 73 to tie Chambersburg’s Karsen Rush for third. Central Dauphin’s Timmy Cooper shot a 65 to win the tournament, and Cumberland Valley’s Campbell Wolf shot a 70 to take second.

Central Dauphin won the team title with a score of 307. Mechanicsburg (310) took second, Cumberland Valley (312) was third and State College (318) tied for fourth with Chambersburg at the 10-team event.

Friberg earned a spot on the Keystone division all-star team.

Alex Stewart (81), Ryan Battista (81) and Tyler Nordblom (83) rounded out the scoring for the Little Lions.
