Shirey, Pope take top-10 finishes for Bellefonte cross country

Amber Shirey and Brett Pope each finished eighth in their respective races at the Slippery Rock XC Invitational on Saturday.

Shirey covered the 5 kilometer course in 21 minutes, 7 seconds as the only Lady Red Raider competing.

On the boys’ side, Pope turned in a time of 17:38 over 5K as Bellefonte finished seventh as a team. Mitchell Pensak was 27th, Cole Hovis took 37th, Ian Hoaglund was 48th and Alex Eichenlaub was 54th to round out the scoring runners
