Centre County well represented for Mountain League all-stars

Centre County athletes picked up plenty of hardware at the Mountain League’s annual banquet Monday.

In boys’ soccer, Bellefonte’s Wilson Miller was named Most Valuable Player while Bald Eagle Area’s Jared Gettig picked up All-State honors, and on the girls’ side, Alana Masullo of Bellefonte earned MVP honors.

On the volleyball court, BEA freshman Grace Hugar was honored as the MVP, and Philipsburg-Osceola’s Halle Herrington was named MVP in girls’ golf.

Penns Valley led the way in cross country, with Rebecca Bierly and Chris Colwell picking up the MVP awards for the girls and boys, respectively.

Landing first-team honors for cross country were Bellefonte’s Amber Shirey and Brett Pope, Penns Valley’s Karly Smith and Mark Bierly and Samantha Bainey of P-O.

P-O dominated the golfing all-star list with first-team all-star honors for Lacey Potter, Julia Burns, Mackenzie Podliski, Payton Guelich, Carter Fischer, Jared Anderson and Tyler Singer. Bellefonte’s Cassandra Vogel also made the all-star list.

First-team volleyball all-stars include BEA’s Regan Dyke and Katie Flick, Bellefonte’s Chloe Thompson, Penns Valley’s Emma Butler and Sadie Granville of P-O.

The boys’ soccer first-team all-star list also included Alex Horner and Noah Gaus of Bellefonte, Trent Donley and Dylan Zink of BEA, Penns Valley’s Jakob Daniels and Philipsburg-Osceola’s Montgomery Tew.

Girls’ soccer first-team all-stars included Rachel Wert and Alyssa Denger of Penns Valley, Mallorie Smith and Hannah Robb of Bellefonte and Madelynn Holderman of Bald Eagle Area.
