Philipsburg-Osceola’s Kam Harris is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore pitcher once again played beyond her years this past week by guiding her team to two PIAA Class 3A playoff victories, of 1-0 over Pequea Valley and 6-2 over Deer Lakes. At one point, she retired a string of 32 consecutive batters.

Against Pequea Valley in the first round, Harris registered a one-hitter as she retired the last 21 batters. She walked none and struck out eight. She didn’t let up in the quarterfinals either. Against Deer Lakes, Harris surrendered just five hits and two runs over 6  2/3 innings. She even smacked a line-drive homer — her sixth of the season — that carried well beyond the left-field fence.
