Girls’ tennis
State College falls to Central Dauphin
STATE COLLEGE The Lady Little Lions’ Kelly Vanden, the No. 1 singles player, won her match — but she was the only local winner Friday in the State College girls’ tennis team’s 4-1 loss to Central Dauphin.
Vanden’s teammate, Amelia Dodoo, dropped a heartbreaker to Attasia Header by scores of 1-6, 7-6 (4) 10-4.
With the loss, the Lady Little Lions are now 6-3. They will next take on Mechanicsburg at 4 p.m. Wednesday on Senior Night.
Girls’ soccer
CCCA finishes in tie
BELLEFONTE Centre County Christian Academy’s Morgan Bair hit the game-tying goal Friday in the 70th minute, as both the Lady Bulldogs and Cambria Christian finished in a 1-1 tie.
Cambria Christian’s Hope Fenchak scored in the 45th minute to put her squad up 1-0, before Bair’s equalizer.
Both goalkeepers — CCCA’s Moriah Smith and Cambria’s Destiny Furtick — finished with five saves apiece.
Boys’ soccer
CCCA cruises past Cambria
BELLEFONTE Ethan Gore put a foot on each goal Friday, as his CCCA team dominated Cambria Christian by a 4-0 score.
Gore finished with two goals and two assists in the winning effort.
The Bulldogs’ Chad Weaver finished with eight saves to preserve the shutout.
