St. Joseph’s finishes regular season at 34-1

MILL HALL The St. Joseph’s boys’ golf team added another accolade to its long list of accomplishments this season, after it won a quad match Thursday to finish its regular season with a 34-1 record.

At Clinton Country Club, the Wolves combined for a score of 336 — which beat out Central Mountain (341), Wellsboro (356) and Cowanesque Valley (358). SJCA’s Jack Mangene led all golfers once again with a 79, while Matt Steyers was close behind with an 82 — which was good for third overall.

The other two contributors for St. Joseph’s on Tuesday included Ryan Peachey (83) and RJ Marsh (92).

The only team to defeat SJCA this season was Altoona, back in August at the Sinking Valley tournament. That loss came by two strokes, which the Wolves avenged Monday at another tournament.

St. Joseph’s will compete at sectionals on Monday and districts on Wednesday-Thursday.
