Everything you missed in high school sports — and isn’t listed elsewhere in the CDT — from Thursday:

Bellefonte cruises past Clearfield

CLEARFIELD Bellefonte’s Mallorie Smith scored four goals Thursday to lead the Lady Red Raiders to a 5-1 win over Clearfield in girls’ soccer.

Madalyn Morelli added the other goal in the winning effort. Three Bellefonte girls recorded assists: Gabbie Pighetti, Smith and Harley Stahlman.

Pighetti also made five saves.

The Lady Red Raiders will next take on Bedford on Saturday night.

Penns Valley shuts out P-O

PHILIPSBURG Three Lady Rams finished with two goals apiece — Katie Martell, Abby Martin, Sydney Riegel — as Penns Valley dominated Philipsburg-Osceola 9-0.

Hannah Montminy and Anna Korman added a pair of assists apiece.

Penns Valley outshot the Lady Mounties by a 33-to-3 margin.

The Lady Rams improved to 7-4-1 on the season, while P-O fell to 0-13.

Red Land slips past State College

LEWISBERRY The Lady Little Lions may have taken the early lead, but it wasn’t enough in their 2-1 loss to Red Land.

Alison Houtz scored just 12 minutes, 30 seconds into the game — but Red Land responded with two first-half goals to put the score at 2-1 at halftime. There was no scoring in the second half.

Red Land managed just two shots on goal, while State College finished with a dozen. Despite the shot differential, the Lady Little Lions couldn’t get another score to drop.

Kiersten Reeser finished with 11 saves for Red Land to prevent a State College rally. The Lady Little Lions are now 8-5 on the season.

State College will next face Cedar Cliff on Tuesday.

Red Raiders win nail-biter

BELLEFONTE Dan Catchmark scored 34 minutes into the game — and that was all Bellefonte needed in its 1-0 win over Hollidaysburg.

Josh Gaus made five saves to preserve the shutout. Hollidaysburg actually outshot the Red Raiders by a 5-to-3 margin.

“Really nice win for us tonight,” Bellefonte coach Scott Martz said. “Dan did a nice job crashing in on the goal and finishing for us tonight. Our defense was absolutely incredible tonight. It was a nice out-of-conference win for us.”

Bellefonte next takes on Philipsburg-Osceola on Tuesday.

Rams get better of Mounties

SPRING MILLS Penns Valley’s Carter Felker scored two first-half goals, as the Rams sprinted past Philipsburg-Osceola 4-2.

PV took a 3-0 halftime lead, but Philipsburg-Osceola’s Kyle Godin scored two goals seven minutes apart to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Six minutes after Godin’s scoring barrage, however, Penns Valley’s Sal Castiglia found the back of the net to put the game out of reach.

The Rams will next take on Central on Tuesday, while P-O will hope to reverse its fortunes Tuesday against Bellefonte.

Butler paces Penns Valley to road win

TYRONE Emma Butler played a big role on both the offensive and defensive sides in Penns Valley’s four-set victory over Tryone.

Butler delivered 15 kills and also made 11 digs for the Lady Rams’ 25-10, 26-24, 18-25, 25-18 triumph.

Morgan Kerstetter also had 11 digs for Penns Valley (7-2 Mountain League), which has won three straight and moved into a tie for second place in the Mountain League with Philipsburg-Osceola.

Fedorko helps Lady Little Lions to sweep

STATE COLLEGE Rachel Fedorko served up five aces and put down 10 kills to lead State College past Red Land 25-7, 25-6, 25-7 for a Mid Penn Conference win.

Jess Irwin added seven kills while Leah Henderson directed the offense with 18 assists. Anjelica Rubin picked up seven digs as the Lady Little Lions improved to 9-2 and host their annual State College Invitational on Saturday.

P-O earns 3-0 win over Clearfield

CLEARFIELD Philipsburg-Osceola swept away Clearfield 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.

Jadyn Eckberg and Mollie Maguire paced the offense with eight kills apiece for the Lady Mounties (20-2, 7-2 Mountain League). Rachel Simpson and Hannah Thompson guided the offense with 11 assists each, Simpson also had three aces, and Mackenzie Welker picked up five digs.

McMurtrie paces SJCA to victory

BOALSBURG St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy secured a 25-13, 25-11, 25-21 sweep of Juniata.

The Lady Wolves (6-5) were led by Ruthanna McMurtrie’s eight kills, six aces and two blocks. Ana Legaspi put down nine kills.
