Bellefonte’s Dylan Deitrich named CDT Athlete of the Week

Bellefonte’s Dylan Deitrich is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

The Red Raiders’ quarterback made his performance impossible to ignore Friday night. He rushed for more yards than anyone else in the area this season — with 262 yards — and he passed for another 177 yards to account for 87 percent of the offense. He also added two rushing touchdowns and one passing TD.

That showing helped lead Bellefonte to a convincing 49-22 victory over Central, making this the Red Raiders’ first win over the Scarlet Dragons since 2010.

With his performance, Deitrich also passed another county milestone. He’s the first player in the area to surpass the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the season.
