Campus Corner: How past area high school athletes are faring in college

Former Philipsburg-Osceola kicker Aaron Boumerhi leads the Temple football team in scoring.

Boumerhi, who kicked a field goal and two extra points in a 28-24 loss to UConn on Saturday, has 32 points on 8 of 11 field goals while making all eight extra point attempts.

The Owls are 3-4.

Football

Peyton Edwards (State College, Juniata) has 14 solo tackles and nine assists, two sacks, four tackles for loss, two fumbles forced and a pass breakup. Juniata is 2-4 after Saturday’s 42-35 loss to Gettysburg.

Nick Gray (P-O, Juniata) has 13 solo tackles and 11 assists, a sack, a fumble forced, a fumble recovered and an interception for 59 yards.

Austin Peck (State College, Juniata) played on the offensive line against Gettysburg.

Cameron Tobias (Penns Valley, Lock Haven) has completed 59 of 100 passes for 614 yards, eight interceptions and a touchdown. He has also rushed 16 times for 17 yards and has a punting average of 32.43 for seven punts.

Kahsim Buey (State College native, Lock Haven) has a pair of receptions for 13 yards. Lock Haven lost to Millersville 34-21 Saturday to drop to 1-6.

Bryan Greene (Bald Eagle Area, Lock Haven) leads the team in receptions with 22 catches for 181 yards. He has also carried four times for 13 yards.

Nick Boumerhi (P-O, Lock Haven) has 24 points on four field goals and 12 PATs. He also averages 32.52 yards on 29 punts.

Taylor Collison (Penns Valley, Franklin & Marshall) has 125 yards on 10 carries, a touchdown and four tackles. F&M had a bye last week. The Diplomats are 5-1.

Jon Seighman (State College, Lehigh) has five solo tackles. Lehigh beat Georgetown 54-35 last week to improve to 2-5.

Brett Graham (State College, UConn) averages 39.25 yards on 26 punts. UConn is 2-4 after its 28-24 win over Temple on Saturday.

Soccer

Haley Crawford (State College, James Madison) has 15 points on five goals and five assists. JMU is 8-8.

Kyle Moerschbacher (State College, St. Francis) has a goal and two assists. St. Francis is 8-6.

Haley Giedroc (BEA, Penn State-Altoona) has played in 14 games, starting eight. Altoona is 5-9.

Jess Book (Bellefonte, Grove City) has played in five games. Grove City is 9-4.

Lauren Anderson (State College, Misericordia) has a goal and an assist. Misericordia is 11-2-2.

Mac Schailey (State College, Widener) has two goals and two assists. Widener is 3-6-3.

Saede Eifrig (State College, Haverford) has two goals and two assists. Haverford is 7-4-2.

Volleyball

Taylor Leath (State College, North Carolina) has 206 kills, nine assists, 13 aces, 121 digs and 37 blocks. UNC is 9-7.

Christine Irwin (State College, Juniata) has 28 kills, an assist, two aces, 16 digs and five blocked shots. No. 17 Juniata is 17-6.

Kayla Bracken (Penns Valley, Delaware Valley) has 99 kills, seven assists, 27 aces,101 digs and 19 blocked shots. Delaware Valley is 3-10.

Sydney McNulty (State College, Geneva) has 149 kills, 16 assists, 31 aces, 197 digs and 28 blocks. Geneva is 10-17.

Vee Skripek (BEA, Penn Sate-Altoona) has recorded 82 kills, seven assists, 15 aces, 77 digs and a block. Altoona is 9-10.

Olivia Meyer (Penns Valley, Penn State-Altoona) has 11 digs and an assist.

Alli Henderson (State College, Kutztown) has 146 kills, 17 assists and 19 aces to go with 167 digs and 18 blocks. Kutztown is 6-15.

Laura Hildebrand (State College, Pitt-Bradford) has five kills, 18 assists, 14 aces and 329 digs. Bradford is 8-12.

Field hockey

Lauren Bonness (State College, Michigan State) has three goals and an assists. Michigan State is 8-8.

Aiko Dzikowski (State College, Smith) has played in eight games. Smith is 6-7.

Paige Meily (State College, Penn) has three assists for the Lady Quakers, who are 6-6.

Cross country

Kyle Adams (State College, Bucknell) was 74th with a time of 27:09 at the Penn State National Open.

Eli Urban (St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent) had a time of 27:39.5 at the Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin, Ohio.

Emma Federinko (Penns Valley, Misericordia) ran a 23:04 to place 39th at the Border Battle at Rowan College.
