Site, time announced for State College football’s second-round playoff game
State College found out Friday night it was advancing to the PIAA second round — and the Little Lions discovered Sunday where and when they’ll be playing next.
After rallying for the win against previously unbeaten Delaware Valley, 21-14, in the opening round of the PIAA Class 6A playoffs, State College will next play undefeated Pine Richland in the second round at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hempfield Area near Greensburg.
Pine Richland might provide the stiffest of the season. The Rams (13-0) have won every game this season by at least three touchdowns and are currently the top-ranked 6A team in the state, according to MaxPreps.
State College’s opponent is also very balanced; it has 3,158 passing yards to go along with 3,043 rushing yards. Pine Richland has also scored 81 touchdowns — and is coming off a 42-7 win over Central Catholic.
The Little Lions (10-2) are riding a four-game winning streak.
