Campus Corner: Penns Valley grad Corey Hazel wins PSAC title at Lock Haven

Penns Valley graduate Corey Hazel was one of five Lock Haven wrestlers to win a PSAC title over the weekend, helping the Bald Eagles to win their first conference title in 17 years and their 20th overall.

Hazel went 4-0 at 184 pounds, posting three major decisions before edging Clarion’s Greg Buisak 4-3 in the finals. Lock Haven had bonus point wins in 26 of its 32 bouts won.

Hazel, a redshirt sophomore, is 9-4 for the season.

Basketball

Zach Engle (Penns Valley, Juniata) plays an average of 3.2 minutes per game and has scored an average of 0.3 points per game, 1.0 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 0.2 blocks. Juniata is 8-0.

Bryan Sekunda (State College, Stony Brook) averages 7.5 points per game and has 24 rebounds, 19 assists, a steal and two blocks. Stony Brook is 4-6.

Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh (State College, Lock Haven) has a 4.5 points per game scoring average. She has 31 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Lock Haven is 1-7.

Kyla Irwin (State College, UConn) has played in six games and averages 1.5 points per game. She has six rebounds, four assists and two steals. UConn is ranked No. 1 and is 8-0.

Jess Book (Bellefonte, Grove City) averages 3.7 points per game and has 21 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Grove City is 3-5.

Cass Book (Bellefonte , Grove City) has seven rebounds, two assists and a 0.3 points per game scoring average.

Tommy Sekunda (State College, Seton Hill) averages 7.0 points per game and has 22 rebounds, six assists and a steal. Seton Hill is 3-6.

Taylor Love (State College, Marymount) has a 1.5 points per game scoring average and a 1.9 rebound average. She also averages 0.5 assists and 0.4 steals per game. Marymount is 7-1.

Trey Butterworth (BEA, PSU-Altoona) has a 1.5 points per game scoring average and has a rebound, an assist and two steals. Altoona is 6-3.
