State College’s Drew Friberg is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

The Little Lions’ senior posted up a career high in boys’ basketball this past week and led his team to a 2-0 record. On Tuesday, against Central Dauphin East, Friberg helped lead his team to a 66-50 victory by netting 24 points and 10 rebounds. On Friday, against Harrisburg, the forward fared even better.

The Princeton commit poured in 49 points, to go along with nine rebounds, to guide his team to an 89-83 overtime victory against the Cougars. He drained four 3-pointers, was 13 of 17 from the foul line and had 21 points by halftime.

State College is off to a 4-0 start to the season — and the 6-foot-5 senior is a big reason why.
