BEA wins match on final bout

WINGATE Tuesday’s wrestling match came down to the final bout — and Bald Eagle Area’s Garrett Giedroc wasn’t about to let it slip away.

Giedroc’s opponent was on his legs and close to a takedown, but Giedroc scrambled out of it to hold on for the win. BEA came away with the 35-30 victory over Huntingdon after Giedroc’s 8-6 decision.

Three Eagles wrestlers recorded falls in the team victory, including Lucas Holderman (126), Gage McClenahan (152) and Cooper Gilham (106).

BEA (2-0) will next take on Central Mountain on Friday.

Bellefonte falls

SHIKELLAMY Bellefonte came away with four bonus-point victories, but it wasn’t enough in the 35-25 loss to Shikellamy.

The Red Raiders didn’t register any falls. But Ryan Smith (132) came away with a technical fall, and three others recorded major decisions: Alex Coppolo (120), Ethan Rossman (170) and Ethan Richner (152).
