Boys’ basketball
Grace Prep earns win in OT
BEDFORD Grace Prep had a long but happy bus ride home Thursday night after a 62-60 overtime win over Bedford CIA.
Zac Sechler tossed in a game-high 27 points for the Storm (6-3), and Carl Oelhaf added 10.
Sechler forced overtime with his work from the foul line. Trailing by one in regulation, the Storm missed their initial try but Sechler was fouled after grabbing the rebound and made one of his two attempts with no time left on the clock.
Rieli Redman had a big basket during the extra period and Andrew Summers pulled down nine rebounds.
Red Raiders edge Mounties
PHILIPSBURG Bellefonte held off Philipsburg-Osceola 30-27 Thursday night in a Mountain League battle.
Caleb Rockey paced the Red Raiders (4-9) with 11 points and Ben McCartney added eight.
Marcus Wisor and Carson Jones paced the Mounties (2-12) with seven points apiece.
Boys’ swimming
Little Lions dominate for road win
HERSHEY State College won nine events and took down Hershey 114-70 in a Mid Penn Conference meet.
Matt Brownstead and Noah Witt led the victory parade with two individual wins apiece. Brownstead took the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, and Witt was first in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
Other wins came from Mike Challis in the 200 individual medley, Jacob Whipple in the 1-meter diving and the teams for the 200 medley and 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Girls’ swimming
Hershey hands 1st loss to State College
HERSHEY State College suffered its first loss of the season, falling 121-59 to Hershey in a Mid Penn Conference meet.
Colleen Adams picked up the lone Lady Little Lion victory, taking first in the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 0.51 seconds.
