Boys’ basketball
State College thumps Harrisburg
HARRISBURG The last time State College boys’ basketball and Harrisburg met, on Dec. 15, a closely fought overtime classic ensued.
Monday night’s rematch was a bit different.
The Little Lions controlled the game from start to finish in a 78-52 thumping, where State College led 22-10 after the first quarter. The Little Lions remain undefeated at 14-0.
Drew Friberg led all scorers with 27 points. Ryan McNulty added nine points, while Tommy Friberg and Brandon Clark both chipped in eight.
State College will look to keep its perfect season alive against Chambersburg on Tuesday.
SJCA dominates P-O
PHILIPSBURG Four St. Joseph’s players reached double figures in scoring as the Wolves cruised past Philipsburg-Osceola, 57-36.
Among those who reached double digits were Zane Thornburg (16), RJ Marsh (15), Cam Khoza (13) and Jack Mangene (10).
Grace Prep falls
COLLEGE TOWNSHIP No player on Grace Prep scored more than six points in the lopsided 60-26 loss to Carson Long.
Carson Long led 39-9 at halftime. Nate Gray and Zac Sechler each netted six points.
Girls’ basketball
Lady Little Lions lose
STATE COLLEGE Maya Bokunewicz paced the Lady Little Lions with 10 points, but it wasn’t enough in the 59-46 loss to Harrisburg.
Isabelle Leazier and Elizabeth Czekaj added nine points apiece in the loss.
Grace Prep can’t keep up
COLLEGE TOWNSHIP Grace Prep found itself tied after one quarter, but it fell 39-22 after being shut out in the second frame.
The Lady Storm will take on Huntingdon Christian Academy on Monday.
