Everything you missed in high school sports — and isn’t listed elsewhere in the CDT — from Tuesday:
Boys’ basketball
State College improves to 15-0
CHAMBERSBURG State College’s perfect record remains intact.
The Little Lions’ boys’ basketball team used a fast start to put away Chambersburg on Tuesday night, 51-46. Tommy Friberg led all State College scorers with 16 points, while Drew Friberg added 12 and Keaton Ellis had 13.
The Little Lions led 15-8 after the first quarter and 25-16 at halftime.
State College (15-0) will next take on Cumberland Valley on Friday.
BEA falls
WINGATE Jaden Jones tallied 12 points and Jordan Jones netted eight, but no other Eagle scored more than five in Bald Eagle Area’s 60-37 loss to Juniata.
BEA trailed 16-5 after the first quarter and couldn’t catch up. The Eagles will next take on Philipsburg-Osceola on Wednesday.
Girls’ basketball
Lady Rams thump Bellefonte
SPRING MILLS Penns Valley adjusted after a first quarter deficit and made quick work of Bellefonte, 53-22.
The Lady Rams fell behind 7-6 after the first quarter but, thanks to their best post performance of the season, they rallied back by outscoring the Lady Red Raiders 47-15 the final three periods.
Isabella Culver led all scorers with 15 points. Bellefonte’s Mallorie Smith and Mia Johnson each had six points apiece.
SJCA dominates Glendale
BOALSBURG Selena Mann scored 12 points and Denaya Poston-Cooper added 11 in St. Joseph’s 49-30 victory over Glendale.
The Lady Wolves (10-2) will next take on Bald Eagle Area on Thursday.
Lady Little Lions cruise
STATE COLLEGE Maya Bokunewicz set the tone for State College by scoring 16 points in her team’s 61-23 win over Chambersburg.
Jessica Lingenfelter added 13 points in the winning effort.
State College (8-8) will square off against Cumberland Valley on Friday.
P-O rallies past BEA
PHILIPSBURG Halle Herrington again paced the Lady Mounties — but she had quite a bit of help in her team’s 51-44 win over Bald Eagle Area.
Herrington scored 20, while Lacey Potter added 14 and Kyleigh Kennedy had 13. BEA’s Lacee Barnhart scored a game-high 24 points thanks to a half-dozen 3s.
Wrestling
Bellefonte beats Central
BELLEFONTE The Red Raiders fell behind early but came back strong to dominate Central 47-24.
Jadon Lucas (152), Andrew Howe (182) and Max Mondy (195) all came away with falls for Bellefonte.
The Red Raiders are 9-4 on the season and will next take on Central Mountain on Monday.
Girls’ swimming
State College wins
STATE COLLEGE Grace Dangelo paced the Lady Little Lions as they swam their way to a 95-75 victory over Central Dauphin.
Dangelo picked up first-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, and helped her 200- and 400-yard relay teams to victory.
Also notching individual victories for State College were Colleen Adams, Abbey Whipple and Shae Stuyvesant.
With that win, the Lady Little Lions improve to 7-1 on the season, as they prepare to face Upper St. Clair on Saturday.
Boys’ swimming
Little Lions stay perfect
STATE COLLEGE Matt Brownstead picked up first-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle as the Little Lions topped Central Dauphin 111-65.
Noah Witt, Mikey Challis and Foster Heasley also picked up individual first-place finishes.
The Little Lions stretched their perfect season to 8-0 with the win. They face Upper St. Clair on Saturday.
