3 Centre County football players and a coach were named to Pennsylvania’s Big 33 team

Centre County will be well represented when Pennsylvania and Maryland square off in the annual Big 33 Football Classic on May 25.

The roster, released Wednesday, lists State College seniors Addison Darcy, Kevin Kurzinger and Nathan Lusk, as well as Penns Valley head coach Martin Tobias as an assistant to represent District 6.

Darcy, who plays offensive tackle, helped pave the way for the Little Lions to average 241.3 rushing yards this past season, according to MaxPreps. He’ll continue his career on the collegiate level at the University of New Hampshire.

As a defensive end at State High, Kurzinger amassed 72 total tackles, nine tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks, according to MaxPreps, in his final season. He’ll stay in state for college and continue his career with Duquesne.

Lusk played on both sides of the ball for State College, but will represent Pennsylvania as a tight end. He racked up 21 receptions for 351 yards on offense last season, plus 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks as a defensive end. He’ll continue his football career at Army-West Point.

The trio helped the Little Lions to an 11-2 record and an appearance in the PIAA Class 6A state quarterfinals.

Tobias led Penns Valley to a 10-2 record and its first Mountain League title in school history, as well as an appearance in the PIAA District 6 Class 2A semifinals.

The game kicks off at 2 p.m. at Central Dauphin’s Landis Field.
