Here’s who Centre County high school basketball teams will be facing in the District 6 playoffs

The high school basketball playoffs are set to begin next week, and seven Centre County teams will be continuing into the postseason.

District 6 released the brackets for the boys’ and girls’ basketball district tournaments Thursday afternoon. The tournaments for the six classes will begin as early as Monday and extend until the last district final on Feb. 28.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s ahead for Centre County teams in the playoffs:

Boys’ Basketball

Class 3A, Philipsburg-Osceola (10-12): No. 9 seed; will travel to face No. 8 Cambria Heights at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the first round

Class 3A, Penns Valley (14-8): No. 5 seed: will travel to face No. 4 West Shamokin at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the second round

Class 6A, State College (6-16): No. 2 seed: will face No. 1 Altoona at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the District 6 Class 6A Championship game at Mount Aloysius

Girls’ Basketball

Class 1A, St. Joseph’s (11-9): No. 4 seed, will host No. 5 Saltsburg at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the first round

Class 3A, Penns Valley (10-12): No. 8 seed; will host No. 9 Mount Union at 7 p.m. February 17 in the first round

Class 5A, Bellefonte (10-12): No. 5 seed; will travel to No. 4 DuBois at 6 p.m. February 17 in the first round

Class 6A, State College (17-5): No. 1 seed; will face No. 2 Altoona at 6 p.m. February 21 in the District 6 Class 6A Championship game at Mount Aloysius
