Penns Valley boys’ basketball falls in hard-fought battle vs. Lincoln Park in PIAA first round
Penns Valley’s memorable season has finally come to an end.
The Rams fell 67-59 to Lincoln Park on Saturday in the first round of the PIAA Class 3A Boys’ Basketball Championships at Pittsburgh’s Fox Chapel Area. With the loss, Penns Valley ends its season at 16-9.
“My guys battled to the end,” Rams coach Terry Glunt said in a text message. “We got up early, then got down nine at half. We fought to get it to a three-point game in the third. Very proud of my Penns Valley team!”
Senior Logan Snyder may not have ended his career with a victory, but he didn’t go down without a fight. He posted a game-high 28 points and was dangerous from long range, nailing a half-dozen 3-pointers.
Zach Braucht added 15 points, and John Aston had 12. For Lincoln Park, Isaiah Smith led the way with 20 points.
Lincoln Park (22-5) will next play the winner of Brookville and Neshannock, a game that was not completed as of press time. It will take on the winner Wednesday at a time and place TBD.
