Bellefonte QB Ethan Rossman is the Centre Daily Times’ Athlete of the Week for Sept. 7-13
Editor’s note: The Centre Daily Times will publish a weekly poll on Monday mornings for readers to choose the high school Athlete of the Week for the previous week of competition. The winner will be announced on Sundays.
The first Centre Daily Times athlete of the week from Sept. 7- 13 has been determined by our readers. Bellefonte quarterback Ethan Rossman earns the honor with 53.25% of the vote in the poll that ran from Monday to Friday on CentreDaily.com.
The senior had a big game in the Red Raiders’ season opening 21-13 loss to the Tyrone Golden Eagles on Sept. 11.
He finished the game with 112 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and was the team’s leading rusher and passer. Rossman wasn’t able to lead the Red Raiders to victory, but he was able to prove he can lead the team’s run-heavy offensive attack in his final year with the program.
Rossman was one of five local athletes in the poll, and finished with more than double the votes of his peers after his performance against the Golden Eagles. He’s a crucial figure for the Red Raiders and will help dictate how much success they can have this season. Rossman wasn’t able to lead Bellefonte to a victory in Week 1, but his running should keep them in every game this year.
Check back Monday for the athlete of the week poll for Week 2 of the Centre County fall sports season.
