The Centre Daily Times’ Athlete of the Week from Sept. 27-Oct. 2 has been determined by our readers. Bellefonte golf’s Riley Clute won with 52.81% of the vote (423 votes), leading Penns Valley cross country and lead runner Anna Stitzer, who finished second place and 33.96% of the vote (272 votes).

After Centre County golfers swept the District 6 Class 2A and 3A boys tournament earlier in the week, Clute followed up with an impressive win of her own. Clute shot a low score of 89 on Sept. 30 to be named the District 6 Class 3A girls golf champion and punch her ticket to the PIAA state championships on Oct. 19 in York. Clute finished with a three-stroke lead over runner up Amber Kissinger, of State College, who finished with a 92.

Check back Monday for the Centre County Athlete of the Week poll for the week of Oct. 4-9.
