Here are Centre County’s high school wrestling leaders through Jan. 30
The dual tournament postseason begins on Tuesday, as the individual postseason begins in three weeks.
Each of Centre County’s programs saw some sort of dual action this past week as others added some late season tournaments.
Bellefonte: The Raiders didn’t have any duals during the week, but instead competed in the Rumble in the Den dual tournament at Meadowbrook Christian High School on Saturday. They went 3-0 and outscored their opponents 181-30. Bellefonte is now 10-1 on the season.

On Saturday, State College had two duals at different schools. It opened with a 31-29 loss to Cumberland Valley, but rebounded for a 39-25 win over Chambersburg. Cunningham, Jacob Campbell (132), Manville and Pavlechko had perfect days for the Little Lions.
Wins
There are three Centre County wrestlers closing in on 30 wins for the year.
They each have 28 to lead the county, come from different teams and are different ages. Bellefonte’s Jude Swisher, Close and Manville are those three leaders in this category.
Close, who is a freshman, recorded 11 wins over the last two weeks. He had five victories alone to finish fifth at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament on Friday and Saturday. He earned his 20th victory when he hung an 18-3 technical fall on Altoona’s Eli Wisor in the first round of the Big 7 Tournament on Jan. 22 en route to a title.
Manville, who is a sophomore, racked up seven wins over the last two weeks. He was a perfect 3-0 last week for the Little Lions. Three of Manville’s other wins were all on his way to a title at the Big 7 Tournament on Jan. 22, where he bonused his way to the crown.
Swisher, who is a senior, amassed three wins en route to the 145-pound Big 7 Tournament title.
Watson sits one win behind those three leaders after collecting eight wins over the past two weeks. The Rams sophomore had five alone to claim his Fred Bell title. He earned his 20th win on Jan. 18, when he pinned the Mounties’ Ian Phillips in 56 seconds.
Cunningham rounds out the top-five leaders of this group as he is up to 26 wins this year. He amassed seven wins over two weeks — three of which came on way to his Big 7 title on Jan. 22. The freshman earned win No. 20 when he racked up an 11-2 major decision on Central Dauphin’s Dallas Schorr on Jan. 20.
Along with Close, Manville, Swisher, Watson and Cunningham, there are 13 other wrestlers that have at least 20 wins this year. Eleven of those 15 wrestlers climbed to 20-plus wins over the past two weeks.

Pins
It has been a two-horse race in this category between Watson and Swisher.
Watson has pulled slightly ahead after collecting six pins over the last two weeks. He used three on his way to the 145 Fred Bell crown.
The sophomore has 23 on the year now, and collected his 20th pin when he stuck Hollidaysburg’s Quinton Ritchey in 1:21 on Tuesday.
Swisher has 20 pins this year and sits 12 shy of breaking Bellefonte’s all-time pin mark for a season with. He pinned his way to the 145-pound Big 7 title on Jan. 22. The Penn commit’s 20th fall came in the Big 7 finals when he stuck Central Mountain’s Griffin Walizer in 2:59.
There is a three way tie for third in the county with 16 pins on the season with Felker, Manville and Foster as the trio.
Foster amassed the most of the three by collecting six falls over the past two weeks. Three of Foster’s falls came during the Ultimate Warrior Tournament.
Felker and Manville each had five over the past two weeks.
Pavlechko also had five falls over the past two weeks to climb onto the leaderboard. Three of Pavlechko’s pins came during his run to the 215-pound Big 7 title on Jan. 22. His 12 pins are tied for ninth in the county with Pifer.
Here are the wrestlers that got to 10-plus pins:

State College: Pavlechko (13) pinned Central Mountain’s Micah Walizer in 53 seconds of their Big 7 semifinals match on Jan. 22.
Major decisions
There is quite the logjam at the top of this category with five wrestlers tied at the top with four major decisions.
Bainey and Foltz led by themselves but are now joined by Cunningham, Homan and Bellefonte’s Noah Weaver.
Weaver had two during the Big 7 Tournament on way to a third-place finish at 126 pounds. He opened and closed his tournament with the major decision victories.
Weaver used an 11-0 defeat of Hollidaysburg’s Mason Schenck to open. He closed with an 11-3 victory over BEA’s Hunter Gardner.
Cunningham joined the pack when he beat Central Dauphin’s Dallas Schorr, 11-2, during the Little Lions’ Jan. 20 dual.
Homan climbed up on Friday when he beat Montour’s AJ Esposito, 12-0, in their 126-pound consolation first round match.
Darlington, Fye and Weaverling all are tied for sixth with three major decisions as each added one over the past two weeks.
There are now 33 county wrestlers that have recorded at least one major decision this year.
Fastest falls & technical falls
There were three new times added this week to the fastest falls list.
Penns Valley’s Ethan Fetterolf was the quickest when he stuck Warren’s Jordan Tuttle in 13 seconds of their first round match on Friday. Fetterolf’s time is the fifth quickest.
Fye came in with the seventh quickest pin of the year when he flattened Hollidaysburg’s Bryce Conway in a Jan. 18 dual in 16 seconds.
Cunningham had the final added time when he took care of Wisor in 18 seconds of their Big 7 Tournament opener. Cunningham is tied for ninth in the county with his teammate in Manville and Fetterolf’s brother, Micah.
Aidan O’Shea continues to distance himself from the rest of the pack, adding his ninth technical fall of the season.
O’Shea racked up a 19-1 victory over Hollidaysburg’s Jacob Brua in 3:37 of their Big 7 quarterfinals match.
The next closest wrestlers are Manville and Close, who each have four technical falls. Manville used back-to-back techs to claim the Big 7 crown on Jan. 22. He outscored his opponents 35-4.
Bainey climbed the leaderboard here by using two technical falls — outscoring his foes, 30-0 — to open his Ultimate Warrior. He now has three on the season, which is tied for fourth in the county.
