Bald Eagle wrestling
The Eagles won big in the District 6 tournament with nine wrestlers qualifying for states. Coen Bainey (120) and Noah Foltz (189) both delivered gold medal performances at the District 6 Class 2A tournament.
Bellefonte boys basketball
Bellefonte capped off their regular season with a 61-45 road victory over Clearfield on Feb. 14. Blair Eckley-Jones scored 15 points, Ty Kroell had 14, Gannon Brungard finished with 11 and Alex Ebeling had eight. The Red Raiders finished the regular season at 18-4 and 10-4 in Mountain League play, tying with Tyrone for the co-league championship, Bellefonte’s first since 2005. Bellefonte is undefeated in nonconference play.
State College ice hockey
State College ice hockey outscored opponents 18-1 on the week with a 8-0 victory over Richland on Feb. 15 and a 10-1 win against Altoona on Feb. 17. Zander Faust led the team with five goals, and Luke Janac finished with three goals.
Zach Braucht, Penns Valley boys basketball
Braucht had 26 points in a 60-46 victory against Bellwood-Antis on Feb. 14. He went on to score 22 points in a 51-46 victory over Hollidaysburg on Feb. 16 to total 48 points in two games.
