Here’s who you named the Centre Daily Times Boys and Girls Athlete of the Week for May 2-7
One Bellefonte athlete and one Philipsburg-Osceola athlete were named the Centre Daily Times Boys and Girls Athletes of the Week for May 2-7.
In the boys poll, Bellefonte baseball’s Alexander Ebeling won with 40% of the vote (156 votes). State College boys lacrosse’s Cooper Brushwood finished with 24% (94 votes) and in third place was Penns Valley baseball’s Hayden Houser, who generated 19% of the vote (74 votes).
Ebeling went 2-for-4 from the plate with two RBI in Bellefonte’s 6-2 win over Hollidaysburg on May 3. He followed up by notching three hits in the Red Raiders’ 17-0 victory against Clearfield on May 5.
In the girls poll, Philipsburg-Osceola softball’s Alivia Bizzarri won with an overwhelming 60% of the vote (1,771 votes). Trailing her in second was Bellefonte girls lacrosse’s Molly McKee with 28% (844 votes) and in third was Penns Valley softball’s Taylor Bumgardner with 6% of the vote (183 votes).
The Philipsburg-Osceola star pitched a no-hitter in P-O’s 11-0 victory over Huntingdon on May 2. She went six innings, while striking out seven and walking zero batters.
